Overview

Troll: The Rending is a mini-roleplaying game which uses the Dungeons and Dragons 3rd edition rule set.

The players take on the roles of trolls, seeking the true homeland of the trolls.

The game is designed for short games, spanning a few hours of game-play.

The trolls of Troll: The Rending come in a variety of shades and sizes. They are known for voracious appetites, lack of intelligence, crude society, amazing abilities of regeneration, vulnerability to fire, destruction of nearly any object in their possession, respect of Names and love of the potato-based luxury Smash.

Using the guidelines presented on this website, players should be able to create trolls from many corners of fantasy. If you can't, send suggestions to here

Background

Others do not understand the trolls, they fear and hunt them, unable to comprehend the unique culture and ideas these creatures have

But now is the time for the trolls to enlighten the other races. Their chief fire god is dead, and other powers have arisen. A new homeland has been founded and the great shaman Mur'Tagg sends troll warriors to find the boundaries of their new home.

Mighty trolls are needed, play a troll, show us your version of the Rending.

Making a Troll Character

1. Choose a Race:

Hill Troll, Mountain Troll, Swamp Troll, Demon Troll or 2-Headed Troll. The 2-Headed variety requires two players, one for each head.

2. Choose racial Traits:

Each race gains 1 or 2 traits from a list related to their species.

3. Choose other Traits and Flaws:

3 traits [2 per head for a 2-headed troll], additionally each flaw taken allows for another trait. 2 Flaws maximum [4 for 2-headed trolls].

4. Choose a good troll name:

Past names include Bor'Dug, Ghur, Gnorgl, Gor'kla, Grurk, Morr-a-Sorr, Ngorny, Obsidian, Ogg-a-Magog, Ragryr, Rug'bashra, Sapphire, Snargl, Truk'Uk and Un'gh.

5. Play
